Pop Tiki - Waimamaku
Pop Tiki - Waimamaku
This Pop Tiki is my most recent print to be created. My Waimamaku Pop Tiki symbolises the feeling of 'home' for me. Inspired by the original colour of our Marae in the 70s and 80s up home in the Hokianga. When I chose this colour I immediately felt a sense of calm.
Our Marae has since been upgraded and this colour became a strong memory of playing with all my cousins at our Marae and feeling safe and protected.
Sitting between the lines of turquoise and aquamarine I love this colourway. While turquoise often represents open communication and clarity of thought. The colour turquoise helps to open the lines of communication between the heart and the spoken word. Aquamarine inspires feelings of relaxation, weightlessness and purity - all the feelings that come over me when I drive out of the Waipoua Forest down in to the Waimamaku Valley. What gives you that sense and feeling of home?
